GAP Season 8 Wraps with First Wave of Onchain Guilds
The Guild Advancement Program (GAP) made history in Season 8 as it onboarded the first wave of Onchain Guilds following the platform’s launch at the YGG Play Summit. Now, participants could quest as an Onchain Guild and coordinate for greater rewards while competing on the guild leaderboards.
The season drew 21,452 total questers, with 95% completing and submitting at least one quest — a 161% increase from the previous season. Players explored a mix of genres, with Anichess, Arena of Faith, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, GensoKishi Online, Immortal Rising 2, Maplestory Universe, Parallel, Pixels, RavenQuest, Space Nation, and The Mystery Society in the roster. On the side of bounties, YGG Future of Work (FoW) racked up the most sign-ups as participants tried out the latest platforms merging Web3, AI and DePIN.
GAP Season 8 ran from November 15, 2024, to January 8, 2025, with the appeals window extending to January 31, 2025. Participants who collected YGG points in Season 7 can continue their map progress in the Rewards Center. They can also increase their YGG and partner token rewards by staking for multipliers through The Stake House.

Onchain Guilds Platform Makes Its Debut
During the YGG Play Summit, YGG co-founder Gabby Dizon announced with Creator of Base Jesse Pollak that Onchain Guilds would be launching on the Base blockchain. GAP Season 8 was the pilot run of Onchain Guilds.
YGG onboarded a select group of active, established guilds within the community and newer global guild partners. This first wave tested the Onchain Guilds platform and GAP guild questing while providing the team with helpful feedback. The YGG team thanks these guilds for being early supporters of this initiative.
In total, 75 guilds successfully signed up, with 49 enrolling in and completing at least one guild quest. Onchain Guilds competed for the most points, rising through the rankings, with token rewards awaiting the top performers. Among all guilds on GAP’s leaderboards, NFT X-Street made history with the most finishes during GAP Season 8.
The guild quests enabled Onchain Guilds to compete in the following games and platforms:
- Arena of Faith
- Basement.fun
- Blast Royale
- Champions Tactics
- Immortal Rising II
- Mystery Society
- Space Nation
New GAP Games Take the Spotlight with AI Bounties
This season marked the GAP debut of seven highly anticipated games — Anichess, Blast Royale, Champions Tactics, Immortal Rising 2, MapleStory Universe, RavenQuest and Space Nation.
With the YGG Play Summit Anichess tournament showcasing the magic-infused collaboration between Animoca Brands and Chess.com last November, GAP Season 8 ended with Anichess attracting 12,700 quest enrollments. The mobile battle royale Blast Royale came next, garnering 9,600 enrollments, while the dark fantasy RPG Immortal Rising 2 achieved 9,200.
YGG Future of Work saw the most bounty enrollments, with more than 8,600 questers signing up for the Navigate questline to explore its data labeling and DePIN platform. This was a 227% increase in players completing non-game quests compared to the previous GAP season. FoW partner Sapien also made their GAP return, while newcomer Copute introduced questers to their Web3 DePIN protocol focused on GPU.
The YGG Pilipinas Online Events questline had the second-highest number of bounty participants at 3,300, followed by the Welcome to Basement.fun quest with 3,100 participants.
Other bounties in Season 8 tackled game-adjacent and task-oriented quests, including game testing, content creation, community operations, and promoting Web3 education through Metaversity. The season also included quests specific to the platforms of regional guild partners and gaming ecosystems, including OLA GG, W3GG, KGeN, YGG Vietnam, YGG China, and Game7. Community members who attended the YGG Play Summit were also able to complete special bounties dedicated to the event.
Rewarding Deep Engagement
GAP Season 8 questers could continue their Rewards Center progress from the previous season, allowing them to finish the track on their Rewards Map by maximizing their activities. The Stake House also saw over 765,000 YGG tokens staked across nearly 1,500 questers, who in turn gained multipliers on their token rewards.
GAP is a constantly evolving experiment. The introduction of new initiatives and features like Onchain Guilds and guild quests creates more opportunities to play together and find deeper engagement as a community, all while earning greater rewards. As these features and platforms improve, YGG expects more communities to form Onchain Guilds, poised to conquer game challenges and bounties, cultivating an onchain future where every achievement matters.
